The following conversation between three men allegedly took place around a table somewhere in Canberra last weekend.

Sources, reliable sources, recorded and transcribed it for us.

However, it should be remembered that the men did not meet and they did not discuss anything around a table that was not there in a place that does not exist and they did not agree to forget something that did not happen.

In order protect their identities their names have been disguised.

Mark: Did you hear …?

Johnny: I did not!

Alex: Never heard a thing.

Mark: Seems like someone knows.

Alex: Not in my department.

Johnny: Who knows what?

Mark: Seems like it was passed on.

Johnny: What was?

Alex: Don’t be ridiculous!

Mark: Might be some questions.

Johnny: Well don’t look at me.

Alex: I wasn’t in that day.

Johnny: Questions about what?

Mark: You know.

Johnny: No I don’t!

Mark: C’mon.

Johnny: Seriously.

Alex: Know what?

Mark: That thing.

Johnny: What thing?

Alex: I’m with him. What thing?

Mark: Eggs!

Alex: Ah. That thing!

Johnny: Ah yes. That thing.

Mark: But did we know?

Johnny: Know what?

Alex: Yes. what?

Mark: Nothing.

Alex: What if …?

Johnny: Never.

Mark: We could deny it.

Alex: Deny what?

Johnny: You know.

Alex: Oh… that!

Mark: What?!!

Alex: That!!

Mark: Oh, that!

Johnny: Never heard of it.

Mark: If we had, then what.

Johnny: But we didn’t.

Alex: But if they ask?

Johnny: Ask what?

Alex: You know.

Johnny: Know what?

Mark: I don’t think we knew.

Alex: Certainly not.

Johnny: Knew what?

Johnny: I’m glad we settled that then.

Mark: Settled what?

Alex. You know.

Mark: Know what?

Johnny: You know. That!

Alex: Oh, that! Sorry never heard of it.

Mark: Settled then?

Johnny: Certainly.

Alex: It wasn’t my job anyway.

It is understood from sources, reliable sources, that the three men then dined on roast mutton with a leak sauce followed by crème caramel washed down with a local Red.

It is further understood that when asked, the three men were unable to recall ever being in Canberra or their offices. They also said they had no recollection of any meetings they never had at any places they never visited. The investigation continues.
