The following conversation between four men allegedly took place around a table somewhere in Canberra. Sources, reliable sources, recorded and transcribed it for us. However, it should be remembered that the men did not meet and they did not discuss anything around a table that was not there in a place that does not exist and they did not agree to forget something that did not happen.
In order protect their identities their names have been disguised.
Bob: Did you hear …
Johnny: I did not!
Alex: Never heard a thing.
Phil: Nope.
Bob: Seems like someone knows.
Alex: Not in my department.
Johnny: Who knows what?
Phil: Nope.
Bob: Seems like it was passed on.
Johnny: What was?
Alex: Don’t be ridiculous!
Phil: Nope.
Bob: Might be some questions.
Johnny: Well don’t look at me.
Alex: I wasn’t in that day.
Phil. Nope.
Johnny: Questions about what?
Bob: You know.
Johnny: No I don’t!
Bob: C’mon.
Johnny: Seriously.
Alex: What?
Phil: Nope.
Alex: What if …
Johnny: Never.
Bob: Phil?
Phil: Nope.
Bob: We could deny it.
Alex: Deny what?
Johnny: You know.
Alex: Oh… that.

Johnny: But we didn’t, did we Phil.

Alex: But if they ask?

Bob: I don’t think we knew.
Alex: Certainly not.

Johnny: I’m glad we settled that then.

Alex. You know.

Bob: Oh, that. Sorry never heard of it.
Johnny: Phil? What about you?
Phil: Nope.
Bob: Settled then?
Johnny: Certainly.
Alex: Definitely.

It is understood from my sources, reliable sources, that the four men then dined on roast mutton with a leak sauce followed by crème caramel washed down with a local Red. It is further understood that when asked, the four men were unable to recall ever being in Canberra, their offices or the times of any meetings they never had at places they never visited.
